MORINAGA
HI-CHEW ORIGINAL MIX
$3.29
Morinaga & Co., Ltd. makes Hi-Chew, a Japanese fruit candy. The company was founded in 1899 as Japan's first modern candy maker and chocolate producer. In 1956, Morinaga created the predecessor to Hi-Chew, a strawberry-flavored candy that could be chewed like gum but dissolved in your mouth. The idea was to create a more culturally acceptable version of chewing gum that could be swallowed, since it was considered impolite to take food out of your mouth at the time.
Hi-Chew is known for its soft, chewy texture and strong fruit flavors. Some of the flavors include Italian lemon, Tsuyuakane plum, lilikoi, and acai.
