Atkinson Candy Company in Lufkin, Texas manufactures Mary Jane candy under a licensing agreement with Spangler Candy Company, the brand owner. The candy was previously made by the New England Confectionary Company (Necco) until their factory closed. Atkinson Candy's version of Mary Jane candy has a similar peanut butter and molasses flavor, but with some updates: 
Shape: Rounder and bite-sized 
Wrapper: Twist ends that don't stick to the candy 
Ingredients: More peanut butter and bolder molasses flavors
